Oh No! I Ate Too Much Over the Holidays! Dieting after the Holidays.

It seems each year we complain we ate too much during the holiday season and our New Year’s goal is always to be more fit and healthy. Some of us may notice that our clothes have gotten tighter and uncomfortable. For some, the extra pounds have crept up on us to the point that it’s too exhausting to work out but yet know that something
needs to be done to get back to being healthy.

There are many fad diets out there that we all try at some point. One of the biggest obstacles for people that are trying to maintain a reduced daily caloric intake is that it makes them physically uncomfortable. They can experience hunger pangs, weakness, irritability, headaches and other unpleasant symptoms. The constant cycle of dropping
and adding weight takes a toll on the body and makes it increasingly difficult to lose weight and keep it off. It also makes it difficult to exercise. Another complication with traditional diets is that the body holds fat for survival when it is in starvation mode. It draws its energy from muscle instead, which helps to explain the overall fatigue most
people experience when they are dieting.

The HCG diet adapted from the Mayo Clinic is an excellent choice for people to lose some weight quickly and safely and to enable them to be able to begin a safe exercise program and get back on track to a more healthy lifestyle. There are no prepackaged or processed foods or living on shakes. You will learn to choose more healthy and
balanced foods. The HCG hormone, which a woman’s body produces naturally when she is pregnant, helps to keep your appetite under control during the first part of the program. Once you get past the first few days of restricted eating, you may be surprised to find that you feel satisfied and don’t thing much about food at all. The pounds will begin to drop off when you don’t have to constantly fight the urge to eat, leading to an increase in confidence and a healthier you.

This type of diet must be done under a doctor’s supervision. Any of the HCG programs that you may find via the internet are very suspicious and not recommended.

The HCG diet can effectively help men and women with weight loss as well as to achieve their desired changes in lifestyle and health goals.

As always, when starting an exercise program please see you doctor first to make sure that you are healthy enough. You will also want to seek out someone who is certified and understands injuries, etc to get you started rather than a high impact group program that will be difficult and injury prone.

Remember, it’s okay to have a treat here and there as long as it’s in moderation.

I wish everybody a very happy and healthy holiday season!!!
